Consultation - Climate Change Adaptation
The impact of climate change is already being felt throughout the Kings Region – from heatwaves and droughts, to coastal erosion and flooding.
Future effects are expected to impact coastlines throughout the Province, food security, and increasingly unpredictable weather patterns, such as the drastic
shift from cold weather to heatwave that took place earlier this year.
In September 2020, the Municipality passed the Climate Mitigation and Asset Action Plan.
This document focuses on areas of prioritization that fall under climate change mitigation.
The next step in preparing for the impact of climate change, is the development of a Climate Change Adaptation Plan. This Plan will address many of the concerns related to addressing climate change throughout the Municipality. To do this we need to hear from residents to share their knowledge and expertise, while providing valuable insight that will inform the forthcoming adaptation plan. This is an opportunity to influence the Municipality’s climate change action.

Click here to access the PlaceSpeak page.
- Virtual Focus Groups will take place in early 2021. These sessions will allow for deeper conversations about themes that come out of the survey. Complete the above survey to participate in these sessions.
