Application to amend the text of the Land Use By-law to permit up to two Secondary Suites in the Residential One Unit (R1) Zone and the replacement of the definition of Secondary Suite. This file is currently under staff review.

Second Reading was given to the application on September 2nd, 2025 and Council approved the amendments to the text of the Land Use By-law. A 14-day appeal period has now commenced and expires at 11:59 pm on September 16, 2025. The draft of By-Law 113 – Subdivision By-Law and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual were presented to the Planning Advisory Committee on May 22, 2025.

The Planning Advisory Committee held a Public Participation Meeting on June 10, 2025. The Planning Advisory Committee, directly following the Public Participation Meeting forwarded a positive recommendation to Municipal Council to give First Reading to and hold a Public Hearing regarding By-Law 113 – Subdivision By-Law (2025) and Municipal Service System Specification Manual (2025).

It has come to staff's attention that all the relevant proposal information was not provided in the initial Public Information Meeting. The planner initially assigned to this file has departed the Municipality. A new presentation was created and recorded by the planner now assigned to the file.

A new Public Information Meeting will be held in the community at a date to be determined, notification letters will be sent out, and the date will be posted on the Municipal website.

This application was presented to the Planning Advisory Committee for a recommendation to Council on July 15th, 2025.

The application will be given initial consideration by Municipal Council on October 7th, 2025.
