The Municipality is seeking to replace By-law #60 (Subdivision Bylaw) that was first approved by Municipal Council in 1995 with the companion document, Municipal Specifications approved in 1997. The replacement Subdivision By-law (By-law #114) and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual were first presented to Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) in May 2025.

Following a Public Hearing on December 2, 2025, Council adopted By-law 114 - Subdivision By-law and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs approved the By-law 114 Subdivision By-law as submitted and is now in full effect, as of January 14, 2026. A copy of both the By-law and the Municipal Specs can be found on our website as a single document on our By-law page.

Planning Advisory Committee reviewed the application on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and recommended that Council give First Reading to the application.

Proposal for amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to enable greater residential development in the community of Greenwich. Amendments include the expansion of the Growth Centre of New Minas, increased residential developability in the Country Residential (A4) Zone and the adoption of wellfield protection regulations associated with the Town of Wolfville municipal water supply. These amendments are associated with the Growing Greenwich? project. More information and documentation can be reviewed at www.countyofkings.ca/growinggreenwich

On March 3, 2026, Municipal Council held a Public Hearing and adopted the amendments.

Next Step: The amendments were sent to the Provincial Director of Planning and Minister of Municipal Affairs for review and approval.

A Public Information Meeting was held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 6pm, in Council Chambers.

This application was reviewed by Planning Advisory Committee on February 10th, 2026 and received a positive recommendation to Municipal Council to give first reading to and hold a Public Hearing regarding the application.

The application was given first reading by Municipal Council on March 3rd, 2026.

NEXT STEP: A Public Hearing was approved by Municipal Council and is scheduled for April 7th, 2026 at 6:00pm. The hearing will take place in Council Chambers and is open to the public. Members of the public can also listen or watch live at www.countyofkings.ca.
