The Municipality is seeking to replace By-law #60 (Subdivision Bylaw) that was first approved by Municipal Council in 1995 with the companion document, Municipal Specifications approved in 1997. The replacement Subdivision By-law (By-law #114) and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual were first presented to Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) in May 2025.

Following a Public Hearing on December 2, 2025, Council adopted By-law 114 - Subdivision By-law and the Municipal Service System Specification Manual. The documents are currently under review by the Provincial Director of Planning and Minister of Municipal Affairs.

Application to amend the text of the Land Use By-law to add carwash facilities as a permitted use in the Rural Commercial (C4) Zone.

The application was reviewed by Municipal Council at its meeting held on January 6, 2026, to receive a second reading. Municipal Council tabled the decision and advised Staff to provide further information.

NEXT STEP: This application is currently under staff review. The application is scheduled to go back to Council for a First Reading at its meeting on February 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers and is open to the public. Members of the public can listen live at www.countyofkings.ca.

Proposal for amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to enable greater residential development in the community of Greenwich. Amendments include the expansion of the Growth Centre of New Minas, increased residential developability in the Country Residential (A4) Zone and the adoption of wellfield protection regulations associated with the Town of Wolfville municipal water supply. On December 9th, 2025, Planning Advisory Committee reviewed the proposed amendments and authorized a Public Participation Meeting.

The Public Participation Meeting is scheduled for January 13th, 2026 at 1 pm in Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex. A meeting of the Planning Advisory Committee will take place following the Public Participation Meeting and Planning Advisory Committee is expected to make a recommendation to Council regarding the proposed amendments.

Nick Levy, on behalf of Orin Levy Fuels Ltd, has submitted a planning application for a Land Use By-Law Map Amendment to rezone 1184 Parkway Drive (PID 55037063), Port Williams from the General Commercial (C1) Zone to the Light Industrial Commercial (M1) Zone to permit bulk mineral storage (Salt).

A Public Information Meeting was held on April 8th, 2025 at 6pm at the Port Williams Community Centre.

This application is currently under staff review and will be brought forward to Planning Advisory Committee at a date to be determined.

This application was reviewed by Planning Advisory Committee on Wednesday November 12, 2025 and received a positive recommendation to Municipal Council to give first reading to and hold a Public Hearing regarding the application.

The application was given first reading by Municipal Council on December 2nd, 2025.

At its meeting on January 6th, 2026, Municipal Council gave the application Second Reading and approved the application.

It has come to staff's attention that all the relevant proposal information was not provided in the initial Public Information Meeting. The planner initially assigned to this file has departed the Municipality. A new presentation was created and recorded by the planner now assigned to the file.

A new Public Information Meeting will be held in the community at a date to be determined, notification letters will be sent out, and the date will be posted on the Municipal website.
